Spirulina Powder by Creative Nature

I was contacted by Evolution Organics to try a product called Hawaiian Spirulina Powder by Creative Nature, a wholefood and supplement for natural health.  Its a freshwater algae (sea vegetable) and contains 60% vegatable protein. It has a complete range of vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients and is especially rich in chlorophyll. Vitamin B12, beta-carotene, Iron, Calcium and the rare essential fatty acid, GLA.

It is also one of the richest sources of arginine, an amino acid which promotes the release of growth hormones which stimulate the body’s own regenerative processes.

Hawaiian Spirulina Green Powder

Upon opening the container the content was very green and the smell was a little to be desired.

I mixed 1 teaspoon into my smoothie and wasn't quite sure what to expect, I took a sip and really couldn't taste anything so upped the dose to a full tablespoon on the third day. Surprisingly my smoothie still tasted like fruits as I was expecting it to drastically change the taste...So what does Spirulina really taste like then? I decided to give it try as a shot as suggested on the label by just mixing with water.. I wish I didn't... It was gross!!! And the after taste even worse.. I wont be doing that again in a hurry but I must admit my energy levels that day was heighten and had enough energy to get me through my Body Attack Class & Body Pump. I may need to reconsider the shot taking but mix it with juice or bite on a lemon and pretend its tequila.

I recommend this product if your looking for something natural and boasts some amazing health benefits.

"Spirulina began nourishing our lives 3.6 billion years ago! It was in fact one of the first plants on our planet to begin photosynthesis and thus release oxygen into our atmosphere which eventually gave rise to our very existence! Now, 3.6 billion years later and it is still nourishing our lives by providing us with exceptional nutrition. Spirulina is truly a plant worthy of the term... Superfood!"
