Homemade Berry Chia Jam

A lovely lady I follow on Twitter mentioned she made her own jam with chia seeds, I contacted my good friend Mr Google for a recipe and found that it was so easy to do.

You can use any fruit you like, I went for mixed berries, it was a toss up between that and tropical fruits but I'll do that one next time.

Ingredients
300g of berries ( Raspberries, Blackberries, Blackcurrants & Redcurrants) or any fruit of your choosing fresh/frozen
1/4 pint of water
4tbsp chia seeds
11/2tbsp agave nectar or any sweetener you choose

Add fruits to processor or blender add water and blend till smooth, add agave nectar and blend.
 


Pour into a jar then add chia seeds



Put in the fridge for 3 hours

Serve with your favourite bread - I made banana bread, but instead of almond butter I used peanut butter, you can also add it to your yoghurt, porridge or smoothie.




Will keep for 2-3 weeks in fridge.
