MYPURE: AKin Rice Aminos Natural Shampoo and Avocado & Calendula Conditioner Review

I was super excited to be given the opportunity to join MYPURE as one of their beauty reviewers, very honored to be part of the team. MyPure have been established since 2004 and promises to be a trusted source of safe, effective natural beauty.

For the past year and half I have made a real conscious effort to get rid of my not so natural products and purchase more ethical organic products. I'm almost there, just a few things I seem to be hanging onto..Why? I don't know! I don't even use them. I guest I'm just a bit of a hoarder.

I chose to review the natural hair care brand A'Kin by purist - A'Kin products are vegan & free from Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate & Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, silicones & mineral oils. So first up....

A'kin Rice Aminos & Wheat Protein Shampoo - For Dry, Damaged Hair

Price at time of publication - £10.00 225ml

Consistency was runny, it smelled lovely with a hint of Lavender, I was really surprised at how it lathered up on first application, my thick tresses loved the feel, it wasn't drying and hair was quite soft to the touch.

A'kin Rice Aminos & Wheat Protein Shampoo is made with nourishing rice amino acids, wheat protein, vitamins E & B5 as well as certified organic lavender essences.

Amino acids in general - are essential for healthy hair growth. This shampoo is said to help rebuild and strengthen damaged hair. Wheat Protein - Increases your ability to maintain and receive moisture. I have very dry hair so my hair loved it.

A'Kin Avocado & Calendula Conditioner - All Hair Types

Price at time of publication - £10.00 225ml

Consistency light & creamy, a lovely fresh smell, had great slip and distributed through my hair easily without the use of a comb.

After conditioning my hair and leaving it on for 2 minutes as recommended, I was happy with the way my hair felt after rinsing, because I have thick afro hair it tangles very easily but I felt that my hair was less tangled, manageable and soft.

A'kin Avocado & Calendula Re-Moisturising Conditioner contains cold pressed Australian certified organic avocado oil & extracts of calendula to create a deeply nourishing conditioning creme. It also contains wheat protein.

Avocado is great for the hair and is high in saturated and mono-unsaturated fats which easily penetrates the hair cuticle, strenghtens the hair fibre and helps to maintain moisture. There's that word again "Moisture" how I love that word.

Calendula also has strenghtening properties, adds shine and can also help with scalp conditions.

I recommend these products if you are health conscious like me about what you put on your body, granted it won't be to everyone's liking but it's well worth a try.
