Harvey Nichols || Madeleine Shaw - Get The Glow Menu

Get the Glow

If you are a follower of Celebrity nutritionist to the stars Madeleine Shaw, then I suggest taking a visit to Harvey Nichols' Fifth Floor Cafe in Knightsbridge to have your taste buds tantalised by Madeleine's Exclusive 'Get the Glow' menu which unfortunately is only available until Sunday 31st May.(Also available across all Harvey Nichols restaurants Leeds, Manchester, Bristol & Edinburgh - excluding, Birmingham, Dublin and The OXO Tower Restaurant, Brasserie and Bar) Madeleine has just recently launched her new book 'Get the Glow' aimed at holistically nourishing you from the inside out. The menu is plant-based, sugar and gluten free.

I was invited along by friend and fellow blogger Dani who writes over at This Woman Word to attend a complimentary lunch along with Sasha from In-spire LifeStyle Magazine.

We arrived at the The Fifth Floor Cafe and were shown to our table, we were offered some water to start off with while we browsed through the drinks menu. Our waitress Diana asked if we wanted some bread and olives brought to the table, to which we excepted.

I'm a sucker for bread and these speciality breads were delicious, especially the sun-dried tomato and basil rolls, so fresh soft and just delectable.

Fig, Sun-Dried Tomato & Basil Bread Platter with Olive Oil & Balsamic Vinegar

We then order some Body Kick Mocktails

Left: Coconut Kick - A coconut and fresh chilly taste with the "sweet" astringency of pomegranate.
Middle: Clean & Green - Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, contains avocado, spinach, celery, Matcha green tea and apple
Right: Glow for it - Mango, ginger, elderflower, rosemary and orange juice smoothie.

I ordered the Clean & Green it was creamy and super nutritious and quite filling, later on I ordered The Coconut Kick which was my favourite, I didn't know what to expect really when I read that it had chillies, but it was perfect - Sweet, refreshing and a nice crunch from the pomegranate seeds, and yet it wasn't spicy at all.

Sasha was the only one to order the 'Glow for it'', she kindly allowed as to have a sip, it was really nice and if your a lover of elderflower then this is for you. The sprigs of rosemary gave it a really lovely aromatic taste. Gorgeous!

Diane our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and it's ingredients.

As we looked at the menu, Diana suggested we shared the starter salad dishes between the three of us, which was ample.

Mexican BBQ-Grilled Corn and Quinoa, Chilli Salsa
Green Goddess Bowl

Both dishes were really good, loved the BBQ grilled corn popping through the quinoa it added some amazing flavour and the tomatoes were so sweet. The Green Goddess salad bowl was amazing too, the spinach was divine, paired with hard boiled eggs, avocado and a mustard dressing.

I'm not a big meat eater so as Dani & Sasha opted for the Thai Beef Salad, I decided on trying the Spicy Salmon served with cucumber ribbons and cayenne pepper yogurt, the salmon was cooked to perfection with a slight kick of cayenne pepper, I also had a side serving of spinach.

Spicy Salmon, Cucumber & Yoghurt

Thai Beef Salad, Salt & Pepper Cashews

With our starters and mains out of the way I was feeling rather content and had just enough space for dessert, would be rude not to have dessert.

Raw Chocolate Cherry Fudge, Vanilla & Coconut Dairy Free Ice Cream
What can I say, every mouthful was a different experience, I didn't want to talk, I just wanted too immerse myself in its flavours. Rich, fruity, sweet and a taste of the tropics with the coconut ice-cream and desiccated coconut.

If you would like to try the Madeleine 'Get the Glow' menu then visit your nearest Harvey Nichols , remember this menu is only running until the end of this month - May 31st 2015. Hopeful they will extend, as it has been very popular & successful, fingers crossed.
