Speedflex Review

Looking for a unique way to working out? Speedflex has you covered, and is not your everyday gym setting - Speedflex is a circuit-based training concept which will transform your exercise regime, and help you achieve your goals.

This HIIT session is performed as a group and led by experience personal trainers, it offers low impact, high intensity, cardiovascular and resistance workout with excellent motivational and measurement tools for optimum calorie burn and results.

There are 7 Speedflex machines which automatically respond to and create resistance levels based on how you work the machine. What I love about this is you can workout at your own pace, they are weight free and can be used by all ages and levels of abilities... the harder you work the more resistance is performed. The other benefit of using these machine is that you are without the risk of injury, whilst exercising multiple muscle groups simultaneously.

I had the pleasure in trying out a session at their London office. Before taking part in a class you are required to undertake a comprehensive induction process and health screening. The assessment includes a body composition analysis, which looks at blood chemistry and tests aerobic fitness levels to give all users a baseline for development, which is done in a private room. My results were pretty good - it measured your protein, mineral, water, body fat mass, body balance and much more. I was within normal range yet my body fat & weight were over by about  5kg which was nothing to ride home about.

I was also given a state of the art heart rate monitor which allows to you to stay motivated to work to your maximum as you are put through your paces by the Speedflex trainers and watch your progress on the large screens.

Heart Monitor

My session lasted for 45mins and was pretty intense but enjoyable, performing exercises like Lat pulldowns, bent over rolls and squats to name a few, they also incorporate other exercises during the circuit i.e. box jumps, burpees, situps and battle ropes.

Ever get those DOMS (Delayed onset Muscle Soreness) after an intense workout? Speedflex boasts that you will feel little to no post exercise muscle fatigue or soreness - well I can certainly tell you…it is true I felt nothing the next day or the next. RESULT! Wish all my workout had the same affect.

Regular sessions when incorporated into a healthy lifestyle has benefits of accelerated fat loss, improved muscle tone, strength and bone density and enhanced power and speed. It can also help improve heart health, decrease blood pressure and lead to long term weight loss.

Inductions are free of charge and this will give you a taste of what to expect and from there, if you want to go forward and join you can choose from the different packages on offer from monthly to annual membership as well as friends and family - where if you join your membership up with a friend you take advantage of 10% off a month.

So whether your fitness goal is to sculpt or strengthen, you can visit your nearest Speedflex Centre in London, Newcastle, Leeds and Surrey as well as Cork, Dubai & Dallas, and push yourself beyond your current limits to achieve maximum results.
